Phoenix Ancient Art to Be Part of TEFAF New York

Published on July 12, 2016 by Phoenix in Art Galleries, Phoenix Ancient Art

We are honored to announce that Phoenix Ancient Art was chosen as one of the 93 top experts in fine and decorative art and design to be part of the first TEFAF New York fair. The fair will take place from October 21-26 at Manhattan’s Park Avenue Armory with an opening night reception to benefit the Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering.

TEFAF fairs are some of the world’s leading art fairs. The TEFAF Maastricht has set the standard of excellence in the art market and has become an event that collectors, sellers and museum representatives simply won’t miss. TEFAF New York has been designed with the same goals and has teamed with Artvest, an independent advisory firm that offers investment advice for the art market, to achieve those goals.

TEFAF New York and Artvest Partners created a highly selective committee to evaluate galleries for inclusion. Exhibitors were selected by a committee that included four members of the TEFAF Maastricht’s board of trustees and four independent experts from the United States.

As part of our display, we will have a bracelet with terminals in the form of confronting goats and a cameo with four portraits of Philip the Arab and his family. The bracelet comes from East Greek culture in the 5th century BC and is made of gold and agate. This rare gold bracelet from the easternmost reaches of Classical Greece includes the goat motif that has a long history in Western Asia. The cameo is from the 3rd Century AD Roman period. These pieces will join many other esteemed objects at the TEFAF fair.

We are pleased to be part of the line-up that also includes such authorities in the art world as: A La Vieille Russie, Adam Williams Fine Art Ltd, Ancient Art of the New World, Ariadne Galleries, Bernard Goldberg Fine Arts, Blumka Gallery, Carolle Thibaut Pomerantz, Dickinson, Didier Aaron, Elle Shushan, Erik Thomsen Gallery, French & Company, Haboldt Pictura, Hirschl & Adler Galleries, Jack Kilgore & Co., Les Enluminures, Lillian Nassau, Menconi + Schoelkopf, Michele Beiny, Mireille Mosler, Otto Naumann, Primavera Gallery, Richard L. Feigen & Co., S.J. Shrubsole, Safani Gallery, Siegelson and Taylor Graham.

Certainly, we at Phoenix Ancient Art are honored to have been chosen and we look forward to being part of the event in October.
